Experienced leadership for the Piedmont community.

Why I’m Running for City Council

For 20 years, Piedmont is where my family has laid down deep roots. As an active working mom, I haven't just lived here—I've rolled up my sleeves and gotten involved. I’ve volunteered in our classrooms, coached our youth sports teams, and raised my family alongside yours. I know this community because I am a part of its daily rhythm.

That same drive to be part of the community is what led me to step up as a leader for the League of Women Voters, to serve on the Piedmont Civil Service and Recreation Commissions, and now to run for City Council. I am also driven by a strong desire in public service, and for the past 27 years I have served as an attorney in the California Department of Justice working to protect the civil rights of all Californians. For the past three years I have been helping to shape our next generation of leaders by teaching law and public policy at the Goldman School of Public Policy at U.C. Berkeley. Keeping our city safe, our city amenities vibrant, and our infrastructure strong requires serious, proven leadership. I have spent years doing the groundwork and delivering results for our families on the local, statewide, and national level. I want to continue that work by taking a leadership role on the City Council and work with our dedicated City staff on the issues facing Piedmont including public safety, infrastructure, clean energy, and housing — all within the framework of an efficient and fiscally responsible agenda.

It is my goal to be an accessible, responsive Councilmember who collaborates with residents and colleagues alike to make thoughtful, proactive decisions that put Piedmont first. I am honored to have this collaborative approach endorsed by our Mayor, Vice-Mayor, City Councilmembers, State Senator, former Police Chief, and a broad coalition of community leaders who trust me to lead Piedmont forward.

I am eager to leverage my background in public service and public policy alongside my deep local connections to deliver equitable and experienced leadership for Piedmont, and I respectfully request your vote on Election Day.
